How it works
Most of it is hands‑off. Approdo does the work that normally eats your weekend — fixing the data — then moves it cleanly.
The Approdo agent runs on your server and scans your shares: total size and counts, over‑length paths, illegal characters, locked/open files, permission complexity, and orphaned or deleted SIDs. You get a readiness report before anything changes.
Approdo auto‑fixes the blockers: takes ownership, standardises NTFS permissions, truncates and flattens long paths, captures in‑use files with a VSS snapshot, and cleans orphaned SIDs. Every change is planned, shown to you, logged and reversible.
The cloud engine moves everything via Microsoft's SharePoint Migration API — preserving metadata, version history and permissions — then runs an incremental delta and a clean cutover. A full audit report is produced.
